There’s nothing like Paris.

A city of love and light, of culture and fashion, of rapidly moving lives and beauty every step of the way. A city that lies at the very heart of everything Europe means and was built on!

It is futile to say that you should visit Paris. You absolutely should, of course! It’s the kind of travel destination everyone should be guaranteed, by law, to visit at least once in their lifetime.

Beyond that, however, you may want to know what exactly to see in Paris – and if that is the case, you have come to the right place. We have gathered the very best things to do (and see) in Paris, so read on if you want to find out more.

1. Climb the Eiffel Tower

The view from the famous Eiffel Tower cannot be compared to anything in this world. Up there, you will really see why they call it the City of Lights.

The Eiffel Tower was created at the end of the 19th century, and it measures no less than 324 meters in height. Originally, the structure was quite criticized by contemporary intellectuals and artists – but today, the Tour Eiffel has grown to be a world landmark, the kind of structure everyone, everywhere will recognize.

Tickets for one adult to visit the entire tower and reach the top floor cost around 20 Euros, and the tower is open for visiting every day from 9:30 am to 0:45 (by lift and stairs during summertime) and every day from 9:30 am to 11:45 pm (by lift during wintertime) and to 6:30 pm (by stairs during wintertime).

You will find the Eiffel Tower on Champ de Mars, 5 Avenue Anatole France, 75007 Paris, France, and the duration of the visit will depend on a myriad of factors – including whether or not you take the lift or the stairs.

2. Discover the Louvre

Probably one of the most famous museums in the world, the Louvre is something you should not miss out on when in Paris. The museum was established at the end of the 18th century, and ever since then, it has boasted a very generous collection of pieces that are famous worldwide.

You will find the famous Mona Lisa here, with her unique smile, but you will also find hundreds of artistic pieces that will definitely touch your heart – including Egyptian antiquities, for example.

You will find the Louvre on the right bank of the Seine, at Rue de Rivoli, 75001 Paris, France.

The museum is open from 9 am to 6 pm, and tickets cost from 0 Euros to 17 Euros, depending on your age, when you visit, and what you want to visit.

How long will it take to visit the Louvre? Anything between 10 minutes and… weeks, really!

3. Visit the Palace of Versailles

This place is a miraculous dream come true in terms of architecture and décor. There are so much opulence and grace that you simply cannot miss it. Regardless of who you are and what you like to do when traveling, this place will impress you in every respect!

The Versailles Palace was home to French royalty from the 17th century (Louis XIV), until the 19th century, during the French Revolution (Louis XVI). The architecture is a prime example of French Baroque, with its grandeur and affluence boasting through every inch of this place.

You will find the Versailles Palace at Place d’Armes, 78000 Versailles, France, open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9 am to 5:30 pm.

Tickets range from 0 Euros (on certain days, for certain areas of the palace) and 40 Euros (for the full tour of the entire castle, for example) and even 90 Euros (for a full year of entrances, if you want to go there more frequently and bask in the glory of its architecture).

The visit takes as long as you please – it can be one or two hours, or, as mentioned above, it can take one year for you to discover every inch of the place.

4. Visit the Moulin Rouge

A staple of Paris and its culture, the Moulin Rouge is far from many would imagine – but it can be quite impressive when you get there.

Moulin Rouge is a cabaret place in Paris, built at the end of the 19th century, and which burned down in 1915 (it has since been rebuilt). Attending a show here will feel like a true explosion of color, energy, and music – so it’s a definite must if you’re in Paris!

You will find Moulin Rouge on 82 Boulevard de Clichy, 75018 Paris, France. The place is open during the shows (most of which start at 9 pm). Do keep in mind that there is a certain dress code you should follow (you must dress smart casual, so shorts and flip-flops are a definite no-no).

Tickets cost around 100 Euros (for dinner and show), and the entire experience will last for about 2 hours (but it can take 4 hours too, depending on the show).

5. Disneyland Paris

Aside from being one of the largest centers of culture in the world, Paris is also home to one of the Disneyland parks everyone wants to visit.

Disneyland Paris needs no introduction – regardless of how young or old you may be, you are bound to enjoy this place to the fullest. Opened in 1992, this park is a joy for all ages!

You will find Disneyland Paris at Boulevard de Parc, 77700 Coupvray, France, and the park is open from 10 am to 11 pm every day. You might want to get there early to stay in line.

Furthermore, a one-day ticket starts at under 70 Euros and goes up to 120 Euros, depending on age and the kind of experience you want.

How long will it take to visit Disneyland Paris?

One day would be enough for the fun parts, but you will always want to come back, again, and again, and again!

6. Walk Down Champs Elysees

You don’t even have to be a fashion aficionado of any kind to love the Champs Elysees. One of the most famous boulevards of the entire country (and, ergo, of the entire world), the Champs Elysees was created to measure almost 2 kilometers and first released in (brace yourself) 1670.

Of course, things have changed a lot since then – but if you’re looking to window shop (or actually shop), or if you simply want to relax, this is the place to be.

The Champs Elysees doesn’t need your reservations; there are no tickets to pay and they don’t actually close down. Most stores close down in the evening, but other than that, you can enjoy the charm and beauty.

In fact, that’s pretty much what you will feel after visiting Paris too! Once it gets into your bloodstream, it is hard to deny you have fallen deeply in love and besotted with this place!

Paris is the kind of place that steals hearts forever – so much so that you will always want to return to it and its ultimate elegance!
