#1. Angel Falls

Angel waterfall is the highest uninterrupted waterfall with a height of 979 m (3,212 ft) and a plunge of 807m (2,648 ft). It is one of the deepest waterfalls at the highest point. The falls are located in an isolated jungle in Venezuela in Bolivar state. It is one of the first places for tourist attractions.

There is a little town within the vast Canaima Park called Canaima. This town is the starting point of all tours to Angel Falls and other nearby attractions. You must fly to Canaima because there are no roads that lead here. The flight is quite an adventure because they use tiny airplanes (3- 5seats).


Since the mid- 20th century, the waterfall has been known as the Angel Falls. A US aviator named Jimmie Angel who was the first person to fly over the falls. Angel’s ashes were scattered over the falls on 2 July 1960.

#2. Tugela Falls

Tugela waterfalls is located in the Drakensberg i.e., Dragon’s mountains of Royal Natal National Park in Kwazulu- Natal in South Africa. It is the world’s second tallest waterfall in the world. It comprises five drops which descend 948 m over a distance of 400 m.

The total height of Tugela Falls is 948 m, the most significant single reduction is 411 meters tall, and the width of Tugela Falls is 3- 15 m. The alternate name of Tugela Falls is Thukela falls.


Tugela word is derived from Zulu and Thukela, which means something ‘startling’, and it marks the boundary of Zululand.

#3. Tres Hermanas Falls (Three sisters)

Tres Hermanas falls is the third tallest waterfall in the world with a height of 914 m (2,999 ft). It is located inside the Otishi national park near the northern fork of the Cutivireni River.

It is surrounded by montane forest, and it is a tiered waterfall. Glaciers or tectonic activity could have created the lakes and lagoons in Peru. Forests and trees surround it.


The falls are named for the three most visible tiers, the three sisters. Cataratas’ las res Hermanas means waterfalls of the three sisters. Two of the top layers are visible from the air, and the water drops into a large basin of sorts here a third plunge emerges.

Olopena falls is a waterfall that comes as the fourth highest waterfall in the world and the highest in the United States. It is located in Molokai, in the northeastern parts of the Hawaiian Islands.

Its total height is 900.07 m (2,953 ft) and situated between the Pelekunu and Waillai valleys. Olopena falls occur where small, seasonal stream spills over the edge of one of the tallest seaside cliffs- faces and can be observed only from the ocean or air.


Volcanic activity over the last 1.5 million years has created mountains here. It gets a lot more rain than the western parts.

Yumbilla falls is considered the fifth tallest waterfall in the world. It is located in the northern part of Amazonas near the town of Cuisines. Yumbilla falls is considered the world’s fifth tallest waterfall. It is becoming globally known since late 2007 because of a geographical survey executed by the Geographical Institute Of Peru (IGN).

#6. Vinnufossen Waterfall

Vinnufossen, the sixth-tallest waterfall in the world. The height of this waterfall is 865-meter (2,838 ft). It is located in the east of the village of Sunndalsora in the municipality of Norway. The best time to visit Vinnufossen is early summer and summertime when the weather becomes more stable, and temperatures are rising.

Nearby there are three other magnificent waterfalls near Amotan: Linndalsfallet, Reppfallet, and Svoufallet.


Vinnufossen was one of the first waterfalls, and the falls are the part of the river Vinnu which flows down from the Vinnufjellet mountain and fed from Vinnufonna glacier and falls into the Drive river near the village Hoelsand.

#7. Balaifossen Waterfalls    

Balaifossen waterfall is situated in the south of OSA, on the east side of the Osafjorden in Ulvik. Coming closer to the fall, you will notice that the water in this river is more than it is predicted. The reason behind this is that the drainage area is small and the water is limited.


The falls’ stream drains from many modest tarns perched over 1,000 meters above the level of the sea. On reaching the edge of the Fjord the stream skips, veils and jumps for a total of 2,510 feet in a long chain of falls before ending on an alluvial fan and flowing more peacefully into the sea.

You can see the Balaifossen on the other end of the Fjord. The water of the river Balai drops down over 800 meters and ends in the Osafjorden.
